The study abroad package includes:

Day 1 >> Saturday, February 2: (Paris)

• Flight to Paris, France (not included in the package price;
  optional: group flights can be arranged upon request)

Day 2 >> Sun. February 3: (Paris)

• Arrival at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France
• Transportation from the airport to the hotel in Paris at own expense
• 4 nights in twin rooms with private bathrooms incl. breakfast at a 3-star hotel in Paris
• Public transportation pass for the duration of the entire stay in Paris
• Boat tour on the famous Bateaux Parisiens to get a first impression of the city
• Welcome dinner at a restaurant in Paris

Day 3 >> Mon. February 4: (Paris)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Public transportation during the day
• Visit and guest lecture at the International Chamber of Commerce or the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris in the morning
• Visit and guest lecture (focus to be determined by faculty leader) at ExxonMobil or IBM in the afternoon

Day 4 >> Tues. February 5: (Versailles)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Public transportation during the day
• Audio-guided tour of the Palace of Versailles in the afternoon and afterwards time to explore the Palace further on your own and visit the gardens/parks

Day 5 >> Wed. February 6: (Paris)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Public transportation during the day
• Guided tour of the Louvre in the morning, the most visited and one of the oldest, largest and most famous art galleries and museums in the world.
• Guest lecture on “Cultural Diversity” at your hotel in the afternoon

Day 6 >> Thurs. February 7: (Paris - Strasbourg)

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transportation by private bus from the hotel to the train station in Paris
• Train ticket Paris – Strasbourg (travel time approx. 2 hours)
• Transportation by private bus during the afternoon
• 3 nights in twin rooms with private bathrooms incl. breakfast at the CEPA study center, Château de Pourtalès in Strasbourg
• Guided boat tour on the river Ill to get a first overview of the “Capital of Europe”
• Traditional Tarte Flambée dinner at a restaurant in Strasbourg

Day 7 >> Fri. February 8: (Strasbourg)

• Breakfast at the Chateau
• Transportation by private bus during the day
• Visit to the European Parliament or the Council of Europe in the morning
• Seminar at the Château de Pourtalès on “Current Issues in the European Union focusing on Politics and Economy” in the afternoon

Day 8 >> Sat. February 9: (Alsace)

• Breakfast at the Chateau
• Transportation by private bus during the day
• Guide available during the day for a talk during the bus ride on “The Nature of the Alsace – Movement between Germany & France” (same guide at castle, Obernai and Struthof)
• Guided tour of the Haut Königsbourg Castle in the morning
• Travel to Obernai for a brief city tour and time for lunch on your own
• Guided tour of the former concentration camp Struthof in the afternoon
• Farewell Dinner at a restaurant in or near Strasbourg

Day 9 >> Sun. February 10: (Strasbourg - Frankfurt)

• Breakfast at the Château
• Transportation to the airport in Strasbourg or Frankfurt at own expense
• Departure to the USA (airfare not included)

Also included in the price:

• Coordinator available during all planned excursions while Paris and Strasbourg
• Free use of computers and wifi at the Château de Pourtalès
