Steubenville, Ohio and Seven Hills, Ohio, August 9, 2012 – Eastern Gateway Community College and Chancellor University are pleased to announce that they have formed a partnership to bring a bachelor degree program of study to the Eastern Gateway campus starting this September.
This pioneering offering at the school is focused on students who have earned – or will earn - their associate’s degree in accounting. Eastern Gateway accounting students can transfer up to 64 credits toward their bachelor’s degree from Chancellor while having the option of taking classes onsite at Eastern Gateway, online, or a combination of both.
The teaching team for the program includes Dr. Kenneth Knox, program director of Eastern Gateway’s Business Management Program. Dr. Knox is a respected educator at Eastern Gateway and an esteemed instructor with students.
Johnna Provenzano, Transfer Coordinator at Eastern Gateway says, “Eastern Gateway is very pleased to offer this new opportunity for our students. Interested students now will be able to complete a bachelor's degree in accounting on our Jefferson County Campus. This partnership with Chancellor University reflects Eastern Gateway's mission statement as we strive to offer our students ‘accessible education fostered by strong community and educational partnerships.’”
“We are excited to offer Chancellor’s accounting program at Eastern Gateway Community College,” adds Chancellor University’s Professor Jason Wood, Program Chair – Undergraduate College of Business and Lead Faculty of Accounting. “We enable the students to take classes on-ground at Eastern Gateway or online, depending on the student’s needs. Chancellor’s accounting program will help prepare students for exciting careers in accounting and for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam. I am personally excited to work with the students and faculty from Eastern Gateway.”
