Chancellor University’s Gretchen Fleming on AAFPE Conference Committee
October 17, 2012
During the week of October 10, the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAFPE) held its 31st Annual Conference in Savannah, Georgia. Chancellor University’s Director of the Center for Law & Justice, Gretchen Fleming, was not only in attendance but was also a member of the national conference committee.
“The conference is an excellent opportunity for us in the field to brainstorm and compare best practices and new ways to help our students,” said Fleming.
During the conference, Fleming was presented with a certificate recognizing her Exemplary Voluntary Service to the Association and was able to take home a variety of new techniques and information to benefit the paralegal education program at Chancellor U.
Each year the AAFPE’s conference provides paralegal studies educators the opportunity to gather, network and discuss best practices within the field while learning new teaching methods and developing professional skills to pass along to students and mentees.
“As a representative of Chancellor University, it’s my job to make sure we’re ahead of the curve on our education techniques and industry knowledge,” said Fleming. “The demand for paralegal professionals is at an all-time high and expected to grow by at least 28% in the coming years. The AAFPE conference helps schools like Chancellor better provide resources for students in this growing field.”
