Steubenville, Ohio and Seven Hills, Ohio, December 7, 2012 – The partnership between Chancellor University and Eastern Gateway Community College, which began in September 2012 and brought a bachelor’ degree in accounting to students at Eastern Gateway, has proven to be an enormous success. Now the schools have agreed to add a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Specialization in Applied Management to the offerings starting with the January 7, 2013 term.
This degree is designed to incorporate real-world experience and practice in leadership, accounting, marketing, entrepreneurship and more to reinforce classroom lessons and theory, giving students an edge that other programs simply do not provide, all from a convenient, online – or on campus – classroom.
Some of the core courses that students will take include project management, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, labor relations management, and talent management.
A bachelor’s degree in Applied Management provides professionals with a level of expertise in all aspects of management in the business world. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that the median wage for managers with a degree was $61,690, with the highest paid in senior level positions earning more than $100,000 annually. The BLS also estimates a 14 percent increase for all management jobs between 2010 and 2020.
“This is an amazing opportunity for the students at Eastern Gateway as well as the city of Steubenville and surrounding areas,” says Joe Jackson, senior manager of college & university partners for Chancellor University (
jjackson5@chancelloru.edu). “A bachelor’s degree can be key in moving a career forward. Applied management is a great comprehensive degree because it encompasses so many elements from across the business spectrum.”
In addition to the classes and concentrations offered at Eastern Gateway, Chancellor University also offers online graduate degree programs in such concentrations as criminal justice, accounting, social media marketing, technology management, leadership, and its brand new sales management master’s degree.
